What is Clinical Research?

Clinical research is the study of health and illness in people. Clinical trials are research studies that are conducted in humans to answer specific questions about new therapies, vaccines, surgical procedures or diagnostic tests. They may also evaluate new ways of using current treatments. The trials are carefully designed, reviewed and completed, and need to be approved before they can start.

Why Participate in a Clinical Trial?

Joining a clinical study is a personal decision. People participate in clinical trials for a variety of reasons, including:

  • They want to contribute to medical research that may help future generations.
  • They want to access to specialized care for their condition/disease.
  • They want to learn more about their health condition and take an active role in their health care.

Participating in clinical research can help future generations live healthier lives. Major medical breakthroughs would not be possible without the collaboration of clinical trial participants!

CURRENT STUDIES

  • BOSTON II - Lung Cancer ScreeningAPPLY

The BOSTON II study is evaluating a diagnostic test for lung cancer in patients with an abnormal lung cancer screening chest CT (LDCT) scan.

  • Perform - ASTHMAAPPLY

The PERFORM study is evaluating an approved inhaled study drug that consists of a combination of 3 medicines. This combination is currently approved in the United States as a once-daily, single-inhaler, triple therapy for the maintenance treatment of asthma in adults.

  • Reimagine - SEVERE ASTHMAAPPLY

The REIMAGINE study is evaluating an approved injectable study drug which is used as add-on therapy in patients with severe asthma.

How Does a Research Study Work?

Research studies typically consist of three parts:

  1. Screening: You and the study doctor make sure that the trial is right for you.
  2. Treatment: You take the study medication and undergo health checks at assigned time points
  3. Follow-up: After you stop the study medicine, the study staff checks in with you

These visits usually take place at the study site, though some may be completed virtually or via telephone.

Prior to undergoing screening, research staff will explain the study in detail and answer all your questions. Once you agree to participate, you will sign an informed consent form indicating your understanding about what to expect from participating in the clinical trial. This form is not a contract! Your participation is voluntary, and you may choose to leave at any time.

Medcorps Clinical Trials

Medcorps Asthma and Pulmonary is excited to announce that it will be conducting several clinical trials in the near future. These trials aim to advance our understanding and treatment of asthma and various pulmonary conditions, contributing to improved patient care and outcomes. We are committed to pioneering research and invite eligible participants to join us in these groundbreaking studies.
